Because the coronavirus is a new strain it is unfamiliar to our immune systems and scientists all over the world are aggressively seeking a vaccine.

 

How is Coronavirus Spread?

We humans are social beings, we are most comfortable when we’re connected to one another, we love to see each other and spend time having get-togethers and gatherings and this plays a part in the spread of COVID-19. 

According to the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention, COVID-19 is a new disease and they are still learning how it spreads. But there are two major routes that this virus will spread throughout the world.

Person-to-Person Spread

The virus is thought to spread mainly from person-to-person. Between people who are in close contact with one another (within about 6 feet). Through respiratory droplets produced when an infected person coughs or sneezes.These droplets can land in the mouths or noses of people who are nearby or possibly be inhaled into the lungs.   

Spread From Contact with Contaminated Surfaces or Objects

It may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes, but this is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads. 

Coronavirus Symptoms Day by Day

Most people infected with the COVID-19 virus will experience progressive symptoms, from a mild to severe muscle pain and dry cough, to fever, to difficulty of breathing and even worse developing Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS). Day 1: Symptoms start off mild. Patients may experience a fever, dry cough, or the occasional shortness of breath. Some may also experience fatigue, headache and muscle pain, like a typical flu.

Day 5: Symptoms could start to worsen. Patients may have difficulty breathing, especially if they are older or have a preexisting health condition. A small minority may have had diarrhea or nausea one or two days before.

Day 8: By this point, patients with severe cases will have likely developed shortness of breath, pharyngitis, pneumonia, or acute respiratory distress syndrome.

Day 10: If patients have worsening symptoms, this is the time in the disease's progression when they're likely to be admitted to the ICU. These patients probably have more abdominal pain and appetite loss than patients with milder cases.

Day 17: On average, people who recovered from the virus were discharged from the hospital after 2 1/2 weeks.
